Beyonce's Pepsi Deal and 5 More Ridiculously Lucrative Celebrity Endorsements

The rich tend to get richer, and Pepsi proved this proverb true by inking Beyonce to a multi-million dollar deal. The New York Times reports the soft drink company will pay the pop star $50 million to be the face of their marquee product.

In November, Forbes listed Beyonce 18th on its annual list of the highest-paid musicians in the world. Her 12-month earnings came in at an estimated $40 million, which means Pepsi is set to pay her $10 million more than she made in an entire year! And all she has to do is film a few commercials, perform at the Super Bowl halftime show, and put her face on a limited-edition soda can.

In light of Beyonce's sweet payday, we've decided to take a look at six other ridiculously lucrative endorsement deals that celebs have signed over the years.

David Beckham
Brand: Adidas
Payout: $160 million (lifetime)

He's not the most talented soccer player alive, but he's certainly one of the most well-known athletes in the world. And when it comes to celebrity product endorsements, name recognition trumps raw talent, which explains why Adidas chose in 2003 to sign David Beckham to the largest commercial contract in sports history. Here's one of the more touching ads he's done for the sneaker company.

Brad Pitt
Brand: Chanel
Payout: $7 million
The actor reportedly got paid $7 million to deliver a number of profound corny lines in a new Chanel No. 5 ad. "Plans disappear. Dreams take over. But wherever I go, there you are. My luck, my fate, my fortune," he says. You can check out some behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot here. It didn't take long before SNL spoofed the ridiculous ad. But the real thing is equally amusing.

Angelina Jolie
Brand: Louis Vuitton
Payout: $10 million
As enjoyable as those full page ads of Sean Connery looking entirely too comfortable are, Louis Vuitton nevertheless found a considerably better-looking face for their brand in June 2012, signing Angelina Jolie to a $10 million deal. In her first ad for the French fashion house (see below), the actress relaxes on a wooden boat in Cambodia, barefoot and beautiful. The picture was shot by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz.

50 Cent
Brand: Reebok
Payout: $80 million

50 Cent isn't the first non-athlete to score his own signature shoe — Jay-Z holds that honor — but he is the only one to apparently net $80 million off his endorsement deal. In 2003, the rapper inked a deal with Reebok to release his G Unit Collection. In July 2012, he revealed to Power 106 radio host Big Boy that Reebok had sold nearly 4 million pairs of his signature shoe, netting him $80 million in commission. If you're wondering what he did with all that money, well...

Catherine Zeta-Jones
Brand: T-Mobile
Payout: $20 million
In June 2002, T-Mobile signed Catherine Zeta-Jones to a two-year, $20 million contract. As the brand's global spokeswoman, she appeared in a number of print and TV ads, most of which were about as exciting as Entrapment. Though the company dropped her in 2006, they gave the Welsh beauty a new contract in 2009, worth an unknown sum.
